Online stores
iTunes
In April 2003 Apple revolutionized the music industry by launching the first online music store and thus offering a legal alternative to illegal downloading of mp3 files through popular peer-to-peer networks. Since then, the iTunes Store has been world leader in online musical distribution.
The iTunes application can be freely downloaded for Windows or Mac and used even if you don't purchase any music from the store. (With iTunes you can sync your music with your iPod, burn CDs, stream music wirelessly to multiple home stereos and share music over your local network.)
